From bride to business

The art of floral pressing & assemblage

Hello! I'm Laila, the Founder, Owner, and Artist of Pressed Rose Studio. My passion for arts and crafts started when I was a little girl, but I discovered my love for floral art after I got married and wanted to preserve my bouquet in a unique way. After researching different services and not finding what I had in mind, I decided to take a leap of faith and pressed my own flowers. This led me to discover a love for floral art that I wanted to share with the world, and thus, Pressed Rose Studio was born! My mission is to use my creativity and God-given talents to bless others by not only offering the floral preservation services brides seek but also crafting unique 3D artistry that beautifully reflects their special day.

Fun Facts: I launched my business during my senior year of college, just under 10 months before graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh. In my free time, I enjoy exploring the outdoors with my husband, reading, and cuddling with my furbabies—Khora, a German Shepherd dog; Kobe, a Siberian cat; and Benicio, a black cat.

Your support helps sustain a college student and is deeply appreciated.

Pressed floral art is the process of drying flowers and flattening, or pressing, their petals and leaves. Pressing flowers is the most effective way to omit light and exclude moisture, resulting in preserving the natural color and beauty of the flower.

Assemblage is a 3-dimensional creative design made by the artist combining natural material and unrelated elements into an integrated whole. You can also think of assemblage as a 3D collage. The use of assemblage to make art dates back to Pablo Picasso's cubist constructions from 1912. One of Picasso's famous pieces made from scraps of wood and tablecloth, glued and painted together, is his Still Life, 1914.
